Basically, there are two kinds of visitors in any type of blog. One is what we call the regular or natural visitor and the other is the accidental or unnatural.

The clear distinction between these two kinds of visitors is that, a regular visitor always reads yours posts, waits for your posts, comments on your posts and most of the time, subscribes on your RSS feeds to get updated with your blog. On the other hand, unnatural visitor is simply a product of accidental visit due to a click of a social marketing button such as stumble upon, dropping of entrecard or other related stuffs. Also, at some instances, unnatural visitor is just brought about by bloghopping through messaging tools like the chatter’s box.

However, there are two important things that we should put in mind so that these two types of visitors will contribute on your emerging success in the Internet.

But the big question is, How?

The answer is simple, take good care of regular visitors and convert accidental ones to be natural visitors.

But then again, the question is, How?

1) Make your posts very informative - Most of the bloggers continuously search for very helpful sites. They always wanted to get information to improve on what. In this reason, they try to bookmark blogs that they found to be useful. It serves to be their guide on their blogging adventures.

2) Make your blog lay-outs very friendly - Whether we admit it or not, a very good-looking lay-out truly entices our eyes. Sometimes we even ask, how did he do that? He is so artistic. How I wish to have such a beautiful header image. Am I right?

3) Visit other’s blog, read their posts and comment on them - One viral way of getting visitors is by visiting others. With the current features of different blogging platforms, a site owner can easily follow his commentators. If you happen to be a regular visitor of one site and always comments on his posts, most probably than not, he will too become your regular visitor.

4) Don’t leave your visitors unattended - Once your visitors leave a comment, a message or a related stuff for that matter either on your blog or email, be sure they are recognized, answered, informed or given feedbacks on their queries. In this way, the visitors will somehow feel that you are approachable and contacting you is such a great experience.

5) Make your visitors feel so special - In addition to Item # 4, one best way of making your visitors feel so special is to give something for them. It maybe a link of love, a tag or a meme (Pinay bloggers like this), a card and the likes. Bloggers like to be mentioned. If they receive any of the above, surely they will appreciate it.

6) Show interest in helping them if they have technical related problems - Usually, bloggers encounter technical problems. It may be on site layout, platform bugs or other errors affecting their blog. If it happens you know the solution, feel comfortable to help them by directly contacting or directing them to a page wherein the solution for their problems can be found.

More importantly, if you have issue-related-post, don’t hesitate to tell them that you have solved it already and what they need to do is to read your blog. Believe me, they will be very to grateful to hear from you and who knows, they might submit your post on social marketing sites (this would lead to possible additional traffic).

7) Suggest improvements on site lay-outs - There’s no problem in suggesting. However, make sure that you tell this in a very constructive manner. Whether it is solicited or not, as long as your suggestion is presented in a very heartfelt way, certainly, the blog owner will feel that you care for him.

Suggest improvements to increase traffic - Every blogger wants visitors, aren’t you? In this regard, informing them about the best practices in gaining web traffic is very much welcome, isn’t not? Giving them knowledge about winning visitors will definitely make them happy. But the my question is, “Is this post helpful or not?”, just joking.

9) Share them your lessons learned in blogging - Blogging, just like education is a continuous learning process. As the old cliché goes, “Experience is the best teacher”. Given this fact, most bloggers are very much willing to hear from others. Sharing your failures and your win-win solutions will serve as one of the main reasons why you will be remembered and be visited regularly. It’s like an alarm clock.

10) Ask for their opinions - With the current Internet technology, a proven idea on what today can be altered tomorrow or few seconds later. That’s why opinions of fellow others are highly implored.
