From a very young 8-year-old salesman (ice candy, fish, corn, banana que vendor)….
Joliber came from an ordinary family who in fact started from scratch, no house, no sufficient food, no shelters, etc. His parents had nothing except their dreams and their willingness to change the world they stood for.

Once told that they couldn’t do anything to get off poverty, Joliber’s parents turned all doubts into bits of realization. They worked hard. They endure the difficulties. They fought the adversities of life.

“Makakain din kami ng tatlong beses isang araw”, his mother heard as saying.
Joliber’s childhood life has been hard but adventurous. At a very young age of 8, he used to sell ice candy, fish, corn, banana que among others. Kahit nung high school din at college, every bakasyon (summer, year-end breaks) he used to sell something in the market para makatulong.
Many of his fellows did not even believe the life behind his words because Joliber, whenever he talked in public (being a lead of various organizations - college and high school) used to smile and conversed with conviction.

But amid this fact, he was never ashamed to tell his constituents about his personal background. Without any hesitatiosn, he always acknowledged, in front of many, his family for being supportive (kahit talagang mahirap because lahat nag-aaral) and steadfast despite of troubles brought about by poverty.

Ngayon, nakatapos na silang lahat, di man mayaman pero masaya dahil they proved that the “lack of resources” is not an hindrance to attain the realization of ones dream. In fact, they believe, poverty is just a state of mind. It’s all about knowing where you are, maximizing what you have and most importantly believing you can overcome everything because of the “Divine Intervention”.

Now, Joliber wants to leave a message to those who feel life is hard. “Keep on fighting. Strive to the best you can. Do better than your best. Be hopeful and action-oriented. Be tough. Be firm”.

“If you want to achieve something you have never achieved before, you must be someone you have never been before..” –
