The Ashes is one of the most fiercely contested competitions in cricket. The Fourth Test of the 2009 Ashes Series between England and Australia will take place at the Headingley Carnegie starting on August 7 until August 11, 2009. England held their nerve to seal a three-wicket triumph at Trent Bridge and take a 2-1 lead into the final Test.
England and Australia both have great sentiments associated with the historic Ashes. This is an extremely crucial series for both teams especially after the tough experience in the World Cup T20. Australian had utter failure in the World Cup as they could not even manage to make it to the super eight. England on the other hand had a consolatory performance as they beat the defending champion India which was a do or die match for both teams but could not make to the semis. Now both the teams will try to forget the bitter memories of the world cup by winning this title.
In this match, England knows Australia will fight all the way down the batting order to try and salvage a draw from this test. The Aussies will be looking to survive the first innings in the knowledge that if they do so they are likely to hold on for the draw.
Will English take them home or the Australians are strong enough to stop them? Let’s wait for the the results..
