Philadelphia Phillies vs New York Yankees
The Phillies will take on Yankees tomorrow October 28, 2009 in the Game 1 of the best of seven World Series of the Major League Baseball (MLB) at the old Yankees Stadium. You can also watch this game live at Fox at around 7:57PM.

Expect increased security in the venue because First Lady Michelle Obama and Dr. Jill Biden will be attending the Game 1 of World Series in support of returning veterans and their families. In this reason, fans are asked to arrive extra early.
Weather Condition:
The weather forecast is for a light drizzle at game time following a rainstorm. AccuWeather.com is predicting the temperature to be 46 degrees on Wednesday night. But there’ll still be plenty of heat. “This feels a little bit different than had we played it in the old Yankee Stadium. The guys who created the Yankees history did it across the street. These guys are trying to build their own mystique,” said Phillies first baseman Ryan Howard about the yard on the other side of 161st street that’s in the process of being torn down.

It’s been 6 years ago since the the last World Series game played by the Yanks. “It’s been six years since the Yanks have played in the World Series, but it seems like an eternity,” Andy Pettitte said.
On the other hand, it took 126 years for the Phillies to get there twice in a row. “This is a lot of fun for us. This is a pretty important game for both franchises. For us, going back-to-back is a remarkable accomplishment. We still have four more games to win, and we feel confident we can do it. I’m sure the Yankees do as well. Whatever happens, it’s a great occasion for both franchises,” said Brad Lidge, the Phillies right-handed closer.
